Bischoff & Bischoff, a young Reha company with expansion trend, is well positioned in Europe. The secret of their success: High-tech suited to daily use where the price-quality factor is right.

Bischoff & Bischoff succeeded in entering the market by means of walking frames. Despite of a market marked by a price war, the company pulled up right from the beginning. “By means of a very favourable price-quality offer, we were able to sell 18,000 walking frames in 1998 alone,” reports Thomas Bischoff. With it, the company always consistently paid attention to quality. Only suppliers coming up to the German quality standards are considered for Bischoff & Bischoff. Due to their own R&D department and design activities, B+B sets a high production standard. Besides standard wheelchairs, lightweight wheelchairs, raised toilet seats and further auxiliary means for the bathroom, B+B’s product range today also includes healthcare beds and supports. Delivery takes place from the Czech Republic, where B+B has produced since 2000 according to German standards as well as still from the Far East. For many years, the focus of further product development has been styling and design. Bischoff & Bischoff is jointly responsible for the fact that within the last ten years auxiliary means changed from a dull existence into a colourful and shapely product world.

B+B was able to win over the renowned designer Colani for an interesting active wheelchair project. With B1 Colani, an extra-class wheelchair was created in 2002: Functional design at the highest level. Carbon, a high-tech material which is also utilized in racing, was used for the undercarriage of this sporty companion. As one of the first manufacturers of the auxiliary means sector, B+B is a member of the QVH (quality association of auxiliary means) and fulfils their quality criteria. The QVH creates reliable frame conditions and transparent quality standards for auxiliary means marked by the QVH seal of approval for the benefit of doctors, health insurances and users alike.

Other countries, other requirements.

In recent years, B+B’s export potential has tremendously increased. Today Bischoff & Bischoff maintains a lot of production plants and sales offices across Europe in order to be present in the vicinity of customers and to be able to offer a reliable, high-quality service and a firstclass supply. The consistent international alignment entails tremendous synergy effects. “Due to specific product requirements for different countries, new aspects result again and again which are incorporated into product development, offering us vital competitive advantages,” Thomas Bischoff explains. B+B operates on international terrain by means of foreign subsidiaries. Because working out common things in foreign countries with foreign people is regarded by B+B to be a very exciting and gainful undertaking. “You can learn a lot of things from each other,” the staff also believes. As a company uniting more than ten different nationalities within their plants, B+B is proud of the fact that the cooperation with partners and employees across the world is coined by mutual appreciation. “Our employees also regard it as an enrichment of their workplace to cooperate with people from different countries and civilizations,” Thomas Bischoff explains. Also with a view to the future, B+B acts the cosmopolitan way, “We have the potential to meet the challenges of international competition,” Thomas Bischoff is upbeat.
